I'm having a great deal of difficulty not buying a few XO laptops to have around the house. Two for my kids and two for someone else's. Some of my usual nerd sites are trying to convince me to go for it. Argh.

This space is getting out of the business of hosting its own photos, and instead is joining the twenty-first century by putting pictures on Flickr. The sidebar link is being updated. A couple of Halloween pictures are up. Flickr's support for ordering prints online is kind of lousy unless I jump through a bunch of hoops to make it work, so if that proves hard to set up then I'll switch to some other service that makes it easy. In the meantime, it's way easier for me to get pictures online now, so there will, in theory, be more frequent kid picture postings. We'll see.

Language Nuts Attack August Paper. Readers of the Times pile on about that paper's increasing (?) stream of punctuation and usage errors. I, myself, can't believe that nobody is recorded complaining about "bring" vs. "take", which the Times seems to use interchangeably.
